The Mu Tau Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on Saturday, February 5, 1977, at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte by eight extraordinary men known as the Eight Visionaries.

Marching Toward the Light

Since its founding, the Mu Tau Chapter has remained committed to upholding the aims of Alpha Phi Alpha through leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and service while continuously marching toward the light.

The chapter takes pride in its extensive involvement both on campus and throughout the Charlotte community. Mu Tau actively participates in the national programs of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. while also creating impactful annual programs and events that serve and support the UNC Charlotte community.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded at Cornell University.

February 5, 1977

The Mu Tau Chapter was chartered at UNC Charlotte by the Eight Visionaries.

Today

Mu Tau continues the mission through service, scholarship, leadership, brotherhood, and campus impact.
